An urgent message from DKMS. "We are hugely concerned about the impact COVID-19 is having on those who are relying on a blood stem cell donor to save their lives. Cancer patients are having their treatment plans changed or delayed, often in ways that will have a detrimental impact on the likely success of those treatment. The same applies for blood cancer patients: while many stem cell transplants are still proceeding, the circumstances in which to organise them have become more difficult and more uncertain. There are also transplants that have been deferred or delayed. So we still need even more potential blood stem cell donors, and we know from our clinicians that once the world is free of COVID-19 there will be even more transplants needed. You or someone you know may be the lifesaver someone is looking for. In such difficult times, it’s crucial to pull together and support those that need it the most. By spreading the word, you offer hope to people with blood cancer and blood disorders as we face these uncertain and difficult times." Please share widely https://ift.tt/2yeYUvd
