Neatherd High School: Year 8 Sportshall - News from Coach Topping We had a lovely time at the Sportshall Athletics! It was tough! The opposition all seemed to be bigger than us. I’m convinced one Hellesdon lad was Yr12 but their teacher reassured me he wasn’t! We did superbly, although we didn’t win it! All pupils really went for it, but sadly it wasn’t always enough when up against the Norwich schools’ where many of their pupils attend CONAC and regularly compete. Even Sam Swales came second (just, he nearly had him, it was the Yr 12!) in the 6 lap event, so we knew we were up against it!! However, our pupils are fab! They simply went out and did their very best, and that is all we ask of them! The girls came 3rd overall, with only 2 points between them and second place! Some outstanding individual performances include: Sam Swales, Jake Melton, Jacob Thompson, Joshua Smith, James Wallis, Kane Clark, Gui Cavaco, Charlie Price, Arden Scott, Latasha Ward, Maddie Street, Charlotte Calvert, Sophie Green, Sophie Eagle, Evelina Kucinskaite and Amber Macey.
