Rounders News! “Hello all We had a lovely time at the rounders tonight. Last week we didn’t, enough said! This week we played like we are able to, confidently and consistently and therefore our Yr 8, 9 and 10 teams won: 18-5 ½ , 19-2, and 21 – 7 ½ respectively. Our Yr 7s just lost out, a 19-18 win to Iceni, but they played a lot better. Both hitting and fielding continues to develop and improve. It was very noisy (as always). Brilliant encouragement from team mates in each game. Good sportsmanship demonstrated in each game. It was lovely to hear how complimentary staff were about our girls, not just for their playing skills. The same can also be said for their girls. A great way to spend an evening. Thanks to all teachers who missed girls from 3.20pm. It’s lovely to win! I’m also very pleased we got another fixture completed without it raining!! Yr 10 and 9 tourneys next week!” Mrs Topping

Pupils are being asked this week to confirm their consent for their biometric data to continue to be used in the canteen. The GDPR laws coming into force across the EU on May 25th mean that all children can give, refuse or withdraw consent at the age of 12 and above. Please check your emails for further information - no action is required on parents' & carers' behalf.

Immunisation update: they take place on 18th May for year 9's DPT and Men ACWY vaccinations. Please hand your forms into school. Wear short sleeves and eat breakfast on the day. Lots of outstanding forms -please return the forms by Thursday 17th May 2018. They are required for consent, but also if consent is being refused. - Mrs Jones (Smee)

Sports News: Hello all, We entertained Thetford Academy’s Yr 7’s and 8 teams at home tonight. For our Yr 7’s it was their first ever game, so to say they were a little excited was an understatement! And rightly so!! So was I! Obviously there is work to do. However, from the start to the final batter, the girls took on board advice, and made a lot of progress from start to finish. Couldn’t ask for more. Oh yes, and we won, by half a rounder!! 8 ½ – 8. It was also the first game of the season for our Yr8’s. Didn’t show, went out and performed with confidence. Again, a great game, everyone ‘up for it’. If you live within a 5 mile radius I’m sure you could hear them! Lots of encouragement. They won 12- 6 ½. Well done all. Not a bad way to spend an evening.
