Food For Life News: Today we restarted the adult community cooking session, which aims to get adults and pupils involved with cooking healthy and nutritious meals. We had five pupil premium students and three parents involved – all dads which was great to see. The meal of the day was a chickpea and coconut curry which the pupils really enjoyed creating and cooking. They were amazed at the reduction of spinach and thoroughly enjoyed picking out new and exotic spices to use (smoked paprika). Connor Webster and Emily Aldus braved a teaspoon of chilli powder which required a gallon of squash to ease the pain. I did warn them! All pupils involved got to take home their meal for tonight’s tea, as well as a goodie bag of ingredients to cook it again with a recipe card. If you see any of these students around school please give them a big congratulations. They were well behaved and eager for another event.
