Neatherd High School: First Outing Badminton Success for Neatherd Friday 27th January saw Neatherd’s first outing to the National Schools Badminton Tournament. Both the KS3 boys and girls entered teams and each played against three other schools in matches consisting of both singles and doubles. The boys team of Matt, George, Josh, Miguel and Ashton played valiantly but were unable to overcome the stronger teams. However all other teams were predominantly made up of year nine players whereas Neatherd's were predominantly y7 and y8. All represented Neatherd to the highest standard and there is huge promise for future years as our young team strengthens and grows. The girls however, took the competition by storm, winning all of their matches. The team of Jasmine, Evie, Katherine, Jess and Abbey only dropped two games out of 15. For a first outing at competitive level, this is a true excellent result and their reward will be a trip to the regional finals. All players played with great sportsmanship and represented Neatherd to the highest standard. I am very proud of them all. Faye LeBon (coach)
