Neatherd High School: Shakespeare Half-Term Update! How to Teach Teenagers to Fall in Love! With all the tears and tantrums teachers have to endure when teenagers fall in and out of love, you’d think that presenting loved-up-ness would be as easy as falling off a log for them! Not so with Sam and Pearl as Miranda and Ferdinand. I told them at the start of the scene rehearsal that I wanted pure cheese – no holds barred – full on romantic novel stuff – Hollywood dance routines, violins and harps, the lot! We got there in the end though with the help of Prospero’s airy spirits offering a helping hand. The result of our rehearsal was an ever-so-slightly tongue in cheek love-at –first-sight encounter. What a lovely way to start the half term break!
