Norfolk Schools Coding Competition 2016 In our capacity as a Lead School for Computer Science and a centre of excellence for the subject, this year saw Mr Gibson organise the inaugural coding contest which was open to all schools in Norfolk. There were 25 teams of 3 students from all across the county. There were 3 coding sessions consisting of a series of increasing complex challenges. Teams from Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) and Key Stage 5 (Years 12 and 13) competed against each other. Points were awarded for correct answers, efficient solutions and quality of coding. The University of East Anglia kindly provided a venue for the event and Dr Stephen Laycock (UEA School of Computer Science) assisted with the running of the day. The university provided full technical support and the students were treated to a pizza lunch! Neatherd teams managed to secure two second places which was a tremendous achievement given the level of the competition and the standard of solutions. Thanks to Mr Gibson, Head of Computing for organising.
