Great @Neatherd Bake Off! As you may know, Wednesday and Thursday of this week saw the first round of our bake off- take off! Parents, staff and students were busy baking and washing up until 5.45. It was a very lovely atmosphere with all teams enjoying tasting each dish and even swapping some recipes! There was cheese soufflé, Oreo cake, Teddy’s tea party, sumptuous sausage rolls, Nutella tear and share, the best brownies ever and South African crumpets! Plus many more! It was a very difficult decision, as all 6 teams (we had some drop outs last minute) produced some of the best tasting food that we have ever had! It was tea party after tea party! Judges, Mr Fisher, Emily Jessop (yr 10) and myself have decided that ALL SIX TEAMS have made it through to the TECHNICAL CHALLENGE NEXT TUESDAY 3.45-5PM. GUIDELINES- CONTESTANTS READ ON: This involves each team making one shortcrust pastry dish. It must be made in real time and it can be made into anything you wish, whether it is Cornish pasties, quiches or tarts! We will be judging them on appearance, taste and texture. As well as team work and creativity. Three teams will then be allowed through to the FINAL which will be held on TUESDAY 7TH JUNE. Details will be revealed after the technical. Please ensure that your team can make the bake off next week and if you or a parent cannot encourage them to find an alternative Many thanks to all who have taken part, these events are such a lovely opportunity to see students, staff and parents display great community spirit and a love of food.
