From Mrs Gormley: Today I came into school so that, with the help of Mr Spalding, I could give the Class of 2020 their hoodies, yearbooks and school photos that they had ordered. It was great to see so many of you and I hope you will wear your hoodies with pride! If you weren’t able to pick them up, we’ll be in touch in September. Well done Class of 2020, you’ve done it!

Dear Year 11 pupils I hope that you are all well. I write to you at a very uncertain time regarding exams results across the country. A level grading brought exams in to the headlines last Thursday and they have remained there ever since due to constant changes to how they may be awarded and the appeal routes that pupils may or may not have open to them. I apologise for writing to you later in the day than planned however I have been waiting for the latest DfE/OFQUAL announcement to be released so I can provide the most up to date information. We have just received this announcement and it has been confirmed that pupils will be receiving their Centre Assessed Grades (CAGs) for each of their subjects. These are the grades we put forward to exam boards as our recommendations based on teachers’ knowledge of their pupils. Having considered advice and guidance from various sources, I have decided that we will issue results via email and not have the traditional results day collection in school on Thursday. You will instead receive your results by 10am on Thursday morning by email to your NSIX account. Please be reassured however that although not in school, we will have staff, including our careers advisor, available remotely to assist with any problems or queries on Thursday morning. If you have not received them by 10am then please email office@neatherd.org and someone will assist you. Accompanying your results will be the grades from any mock exams you completed in Year 11. There will also be clear information on how to access support and make appeals. I am aware of some sixth forms who have already written to pupils asking them for mock exam grades on school headed paper. Please don’t let these requests worry you. You will have all of the information you need on Thursday. We had previously informed you that you could collect your leavers hoodies and year books with your results on Thursday. Mrs Gormley will be available on Friday morning between 10am and 12pm to hand these out. Please visit the school between these hours to collect. If you are unable to collect on Friday then we will arrange another time for collection. In the meantime, please don’t let media stories scare, worry or mislead you. We will support you whatever happens. Mr Smith and all at Neatherd
